Someone recently asked how old Truman was, and I said, "almost fifteen months", she then responded with a "the days go by so fast when they are little!" I smiled, looked at her and said, "oh no, I remember every day of the last fifteen months!" It's been fifteen months full of smiles, tears, shrieks, sleepless nights, belly laughs, head shakes, head knocks, sparkling baby blues, full fledged tantrums, complete frustration, complete joy, and everything in between. He is definitely a child all his own, 100% different than his sister.
We had our 15 month check up and here are the stats:
Weight: 27 lbs 8 oz/ 85th%
Height: 33 inches/ 93rd%
When we went to pick up T from school another mom was there and we were talking and she asked how old he was and when I told her he just turned 15 months, she looked at me in awe and said "wow! I would have guessed him just over 2." Yep, he is a great big tank!
He is a smiley, happy, fun kid. Except when he isn't. And then he is an easy to cry, hug your leg, attached at your hip kind of kid. Thankfully the small things seem to make him happy: the vacuum, outside, the broom, dragging cords around the house, veggie straws...Which bring me to food. Man is this kid picky. But we have no idea why. He has no rhyme or reason to eating. There isn't anything new we have discovered that he likes, but we have discovered he doesn't seem to like to eat cake, cookies, cupcakes, brownies...but he will down a carton of ice cream if you let him. He still loves yogurt, or anything that resembles yogurt (sour cream, ranch), fruit snacks, fruit bars, smoothies, cereal, graham crackers, pudding, applesauce...no idea why he won't even put things in his mouth, but we keep trying. Thankfully the finickiness hasn't seemed to affect his growth!
He loves to sweep, vacuum, help put away dishes, crawl up on the chairs and onto the dining room table, really anything he can crawl up on he loves! His new favourite is the sink. If he can get his hands under water he is in heaven. This kid is going to give us all a run for our money with cleaning and hygiene when he grows up!!
Everytime we go into the garage he loves to make noises to hear his voice echo. And then he loves to run out onto the driveway and into our neighbour's yard. He is all boy and all mess. I think he would love to spend the entire day outside. I don't know what we will do when winter comes.
Even though he doesn't talk a whole lot, other than babbles and noises, he loves the phone, skype and facetime. As soon as I pick up the phone he is by my side to "talk" to someone. I told him if he will talk, I will gladly call every person we know so he can talk. If he sees my iPad, it's over. He has figured out how to turn it on and if he can luck into swiping the right spot, as soon as the icons come up, he is tapping away at them trying to find some trouble to get into. Boy is this kid curious!!
We sure love having him in our family. He LOVES his big sister and when ever he hears her voice he runs to find her. They love to listen to the music and dance...as long as he isn't turning the TV on and off (his new joy). He has recently learned ring around the rosie and will take you by the hand and start walking around in a circle (seriously the cutest thing ever!). He even falls down at the end!
He is a stubborn, independent little boy and he knows what he wants. If he would only tell us instead of standing and pointing/crying/shrieking at us, it would make it all the better!
We love him oodles and oodles and just want to kiss those big, squishy cheeks of his!!!
