Spring Has Sprung!

Someone sure is happy it's Spring time! She finally got to wear her pretty spring dress that Grandma F gave to her! She was so excited!! Well, okay, she probably didn't care, but we'll pretend she did!
(Look at those arms!!) Too bad I can't get her to sit very long without sticking out her tongue, putting her fist in her mouth, lunging at me, or trying to grab the camera strap or lens cover. If I could just get her to look at me and smile at the same time!!!
T also wanted to vocally share with you her happiness that it is Spring.

Well, it's probably more her happiness that she got to play with the remote...but either way she was happy!

Let The Teething Begin!

Well, okay, she's probably been teething since was 2 months old...drooling at least, but we discovered on Sunday that the ground has been broken!
Yes tooth #1 has popped through! It seemed to come out of nowhere as she hasn't been particularly fussy or cranky. Maybe chewing on her Dad's metal watch helped numb her gums up!
It's a rare occurrence that she will actually let you see her gums, but I was able to pin her down the other day to get a quick glimpse and sure enough a pointy, sharp little tooth was sticking out.
She must like the way it feels since she spends most of the day with her tongue darting in and out over the tooth.
It only took 9 and a half months for the tip of one tooth to come in....maybe by the time she is 5 she'll have 3 or 4 teeth! I guess it will allow for the tooth fairy to save up, right? What is the going rate for teeth these days anyway?
My guess is that we will never get a picture until she has a full set of permanent teeth, so I'll just put up some random pics.
I really wish I could get some of her sleeping at night because it is the funniest thing to see the positions she gets into. I'll stand there looking at her wondering how in heavens she could be remotely comfortable, but whatever works.

Every Breath You Take

So we've been stuffing T full of all her yummy new foods she can eat (man does this kid love cheese!), I don't think we'll be able to hit 20 pounds by her first birthday, but we can try right?
Unfortunately she came down with a cold, seemingly out of nowhere, and has been a trooper. She only had one tough night trying to breathe/stay asleep. At one point I checked on her and she was asleep but a few minutes later when I checked on her again, this is what I found...It was so cute!! Yet so sad at the same time since I knew she couldn't breathe too well. We didn't let her stay that way for too long - just enough to get the picture. Hopefully this cold passes soon and we can stop investing in Kleenex.
She has started to crawl the traditional way, although she doesn't do it a lot, she prefers to stand up holding onto whatever is close to her. Usually it's her exersaucer or the TV stand. She will pull herself up and just stare at the TV. She used to pull out all of the movies out of the stand until I got tired of cleaning them up and bought a nice little container to put them all in, so now she has an empty TV stand to play with! She also likes to chew on her gum stimulator while she plays. It looks like she may be getting her bottom two teeth, but who knows, it could still be months until they pop out of those gums! And most of all she's realized that her Grandpa is her hero. Or, she's discovered the shirt he bought her at least. Still a little big, but she wanted to show her Gramps it almost fits her! Thanks for the T-shirt Dad; It only took 9 months for her to kind of fit into it!!She is also becoming quite the shrieker. Well, it's more like a shriek/squeal. Her way of saying hi to the world I guess. I tried to get it on video when she was supposed to be taking a nap, but of course she stopped when I pressed record. How she knew I was outside her door, I will never know. I called Mark and let him listen and he asked if I was skinning a cat!! It's quite funny. Hopefully we can catch her and share it with all of you because Iknow you're dying to hear what she sounds like.
Regardless of her ear piercing screeches, she is a whole lot of fun and an almost always, smiley little girl. Except for when we're sucking out her nose - then she's not too happy, but who would be happy if some plastic thing was shoved up their nose suctioning boogers out??

Don't Stop Believing

So 9 months have come and gone...what can we say?
Height: 28.5 inches (84th percentile)
Head: 45 cm (79th percentile)
Weight: ugh
I had so thought we'd packed on a few pounds these last three months, but I was mistaken. So at the whopping age of 9 months, my little one tips the scales at an impressive 15 pounds 13 ounces. Yes, we didn't even crack the 16 pound mark. This puts her at the 6th percentile. Yes, 6th. The good news is that she is healthy, happy and a ball of energy, so no need to worry! She needs to enjoy this free reign of food she will be getting as it looks like there won't be a "too much" policy in our household. Too bad I can't have those rules when it comes to food!! Imagine.
T will now get to dine on the Stage 2 foods (mmmm pureed meats), yogurts (no low fat for this kid!), and cheese!!!
Still no ice cream or chocolates Grandmas and Grandpas!!
At least she's off the high end of the percentile charts in cuteness!!

These Boots Are Made For Walking

Here's one (mostly) for the Grandmas (since I don't think the Grandpas look at the blog!!). And anyone else who's interested of course.
It's not a long video, I promise.

The Days of Our Lives

Nine months ago...Today...Too bad every picture is either a tongue hanging out with no smile, or the fist in the mouth with a smile!! Oh well...she's cute either way!
And I discovered pants that fit!! Thanks to a handy little ribbon belt on the pants. Thank you Ralph Lauren and Filene's Basement for selling them so cheap!

And So It Begins

The process
The Aftermath

The ResultDid it work?

Friends in Low Places

Since it's usually just me and T during the day, she's decided I'm not always tons of fun, so she's found another friend. Luckily for her, this friend is with her wherever she wanders... as long as the weather cooperates!

The Glass Menagerie

T's decided that merely looking out the window is not fulfilling enough...

Ahhhh, nothing like the taste of cool glass on a cold day.

Who needs Windex anyway??

Marching Along

T is continuing to work on developing her talents. I'm not quite sure how this one will help her in life, but who am I to squash her efforts? Maybe she will develop an intense love for wearing hats. I hope she has the face to pull it off!! Hopefully she'll find hats that let her see the world instead of hiding behind them!!
She's also quite adept at all things tongue. Most of the day is spent with her tongue outside of her mouth. She'll scoot around with it hanging out; playing with toys - it's stuck out. She doesn't really make nice farty noises with it, she just lets it hang out. Maybe she thinks it needs to be air dried? Either way, she enjoys comparing tongues with others. Dad's might be bigger, but hers is longer!

We're not quite sure if she's inherited a fear of heights yet, but so far she looks alright with it, not that Mark's height qualifies as a fearful height! And she's just been busy looking as cute as ever in her lovely Christmas frock from her Auntie Jenne! This is the only picture I could get without a tongue... maybe her fist was keeping it from falling out this time!

T has her 9 month check up next week. We'll see if she's graduated into double percentile digits for her weight - we're not holding our breath! Any one want to place bets??
