18 Months Later

I know everyone has been sitting on the edge of their seats for the past week, patiently waiting to find out just how much Truman has grown in the last three months.  Well, I shan't hold you in suspense any longer.
Head - 50cm/94.75%
Weight - 30lbs 9oz/93.31%
Height - 35.5in/99.12%

Yes, our wee boy is not really so wee, is he?  Now I get why strangers are amazed when I tell them he is only 18 months and they look shocked!

Here is a bit about our boy at 18 months.

He is a good sleeper (98% of the time) but he does like to throw us for a loop every now and again and wake up for a few hours in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.  He takes a good 2-3 hour nap every day.  Fingers crossed that doesn't end at 2 like it did with his sister.  He is a wonderful eater...when we figure out what foods he actually enjoys eating.  He has no indicators of what will go in his mouth or what will go on the floor.  We discovered he likes limeade, but he still won't eat bread or pasta.  He likes most fruit, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, suckers, smoothies, mini wheats, crackers, goldfish, fruit snacks, cookies, and other random things.  He won't eat oreos, potatoes, meat, veggies, peanut butter, bread, pasta, and pretty much everything else.  Some days it's a real puzzle to figure out what he will eat, but as long as we have yogurt, cheese, applesauce and fruit snacks, we'll be okay.
The boy seems to have no desire to speak.  He can make about 5 or 6 animals noises and will say mama, but no more.  He will pick up gestures and sounds, but you ask the kid to say ball and it's a no go.  He is all over and into EVERYthing, which makes cleaning pointless.  He loves to play with his sister and gets upset when she goes into her room and shuts the door on him.  He is a better independent player, but really loves playing with others.  He may not say a lot, but when he wants something or is upset, he will definitely let you know.  He loves to give a hug and kiss and will sometimes just walk up to you, give you a kiss and then take off.  Out of the two kids, he is the snuggler, but that's not saying a lot.
His favourite things right now are...anything that Tennyson has!  Oh the fighting already.  But he likes his drum set, basketball (loves to throw), books, books and more books, colouring, helping tidy up, bath time, the vacuum (man does he LOVE the vacuum), sweeping, playing outside and pretty much anything.  He is fairly easy going.  Oddly enough he loves to be thrown around, flying through the air as his Dad throws him on the couch, bed...any soft surface.  He also like to be hit.  Not in a contact CFS way but he loves when you stick your foot out and he will run into it and fall over.  He will do it again and again and again and... His latest trick is throwing his head back and twirling around until he is dizzy.  He is a crazy kid.
He is very sweet and has a smile that will light up the room.  Even when he is hiding behind my leg, his head will peak around the corner and smile at whoever is standing by us.  He has the bluest of blue eyes and will just melt your heart.  We sure love this kid.

Christmas 2011

We spent Christmas in Winnipeg this year.  I think everyone had a good time.  My pictures wouldn't let you know it though since I apparently only broke out the camera ON Christmas.  Not sure if it's because we spent most days in our pj's or what, but...oh well.  We got the important day, right?  So here are some pictures to show you we did celebrate!
Christmas Eve pjs!
