As most LDS parents know, Conference weekend can be a hard one for little kids. Here are some pictures to show you how we handled it this year.
Busting a move on the dance floor!
Taking a dip in the pool.
Riding horses.
Getting freaked out by an Elmo impostor.
Riding trains.
Playing in the hay.
So, I guess it's obvious we skipped conference this time around. We ventured down to southern Minnesota (Little House on the Prairie territory) for the wedding of a friend of Mark's. We decided to stop in beautiful Belle Plaine and take part in the Scarecrow Festival. There were lots of scarecrows, apple orchards and pumpkin fields to be seen. Tennyson had a grand old time being thrown into the huge pile of hay. We were going to take her on a camel ride, but other than charging $5 per person, Tennyson was scared witless by the camel when we brought her near it!! She loved taking a ride in the little train whose cars were made out of 50 gallon drums (not so comfy!) and taking a ride through the orchards on the wagon. It was a nice little trip, lovely wedding (where not only Tennyson shook her groove thing, I got Mark shaking his grove thing on tape too!!), and a fun time had by all of us!
