It's not? It sure feels like it should be. Oh well, I guess I'll post some of our October escapades anyway. Maybe it will speed up the rest of the month.
Hanging out on a rainy day with some friends.
Eating some veggie straws with the fridge open (usually she tries to scoot her bum in the fridge and shut the door...it never closes).
Not a very scary scarecrow!
Mark thought this one was funny...
We don't think she enjoyed Charlie Brown's Halloween special.
Nothing beats sitting on a pumpkin!
Off on a hay ride...the best picture we could muster. This girl does not like to sit still, or have her picture taken. Try to do both at once...good luck!
Again, the best picture out of the bunch.
Ok, I will take that back. Apparently she will pose for you all day long when she has a new dress on for church! And she'll do her very best at
cheese!" (more like chhhhhs)
cheese!" (more like chhhhhs)
So far October has been alright. Nothing too exciting going on and some days are just filled with laundry, but we try to have some fun wherever we find ourselves. Later on we have the church Halloween bash and we might even take her to a couple houses for some candy on Halloween - we'll see. We will definitely post some pictures, be ready, because they are going to be super duper cute.
On a skills note, Tennyson is rapidly expanding her vocabulary (no thanks to her Father) and can now say puppy (not pu-pah like before), baby, mama, dada, bubbles, ball, cheese (ok chhhh), night night, hi, buh bye and my favourite...turtle!! She loves making a mess, but thankfully she loves putting it away, most of the time. She has begun to drag us into her room and have us read her book after book after book after book after book after book after book after book after book after...well you know. A nice thing for me is that she puts the old book away before we read the new book, so no mess!! Well, a small controllable mess. She loves David's Father, The Paper Bag Princess, If You give a Mouse a Cookie, Osbert, I Love You Forever, The Poky Little Puppy, Fancy Nancy and The Monster at the End of this Book. The funniest thing is to watch her take out a book, look at it and put it back on the shelf until she finds one she likes!! Discerning taste already!
We've also been going to a play group put on by the school district once a week. She seems to like it although she isn't much for playing with other kids and she would gladly stand in the playhouse and open and shut the door for the entire time but I try to make her play with other things. Hopefully we'll be able to keep her busy with the rain that's coming and when the snow and cold finally get here. No more daily park outings when it's minus a million! If any one has some good ideas for entertaining a 16 month old with the attention span of a gnat, let me know. It may be a long winter!
