The big day was this past weekend. T was a little excited, talking about DJ and her show all day long. Poor kid, hasn't caught on to the "have to wait" thing. Every time we got in the car, "show?", nope not yet. Mark had to head into work and when he left, she looked so excited but was then so sad to know she had to stay home with Mom.
Finally the time came to go; we picked up Mark from work, parked the car and in we went. There was definitely a lot more excitement at this show than at the Sesame Street show.
Sadly, you would have never known Tennyson was excited by watching her. I don't know whether it is her age or her personality, or a combination of both, but any passerby would have wondered why we dragged her to such an event. Thankfully, we know what her looks and actions mean, and yes standing as still as a statue, chomping on her fingers means she is in awe. It is the exact same way she watches the show at home. If she is sitting on the couch, she doesn't move, she is mesmerized by what she sees. Every now and again she'll let out a little peep or two. If she is standing, she is even more still, leaning against the ottoman, following the gang's every movement. We did catch her making a few funny face motions once, but as soon as she noticed us looking at her, she stopped. Regardless, she had so much fun at the show. She got a balloon (which Dad proceeded to pop when we got home), she ate popcorn (while in a trance) and she got a t-shirt that she proudly sported all through the skyways of Minneapolis.
Alright, here are a few pictures and videos...they are not very good quality as it was pretty dark and the Flip doesn't have any sort of lighting, so...enjoy!
It begins!
Chewing on Brobee with excitement!
Daddy sporting his DJ Lance glasses.
The whole gang.
Like I said, these videos are really dark, but they are the best examples of any excitement she showed. Every other video is either a hand in her mouth, a finger up her nose or her mouth full of popcorn!!
